NOMINATIONS AND AWARDS
To keep the format of “group series”, the
members of the main cast decided to apply in the same categories of performance
premium. Starting by the eighth season of the series, the actors decided to
present in the voting for main actor, instead of
the camps of best supporting actor.
The series was nominated to 63 Primetime Emmy
Awards, however, won just six. Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow are the only
members of the main cast that won an Emmy, unlike
Courteney Cox, who is the only actress that was not nominated. The series won the Emmy in 2002 in the
category of “The Best Comedy Series”, with nominations in 1995, 1996, 1999,
2000 and 2003. The series won an American Comedy Award, a GLAAD Media Award, a
Golden Globe Award, three Logie Awards, six People’s Choice Awards, a Satellite
Award and a Screen Actors Guild Awards.
