SUMMARY OF THE TEN SEASONS

First season

First of all, the season presents the six main characters: Rachel Green, Phoebe Buffay, Monica Geller, Ross Geller, Joey Tribbiani and Chandler Bing. Rachel gets at the Central Perk, after leaving her fiancé Barry and goes to live in Monica’s apartment. Ross constantly tries to tell Rachel he loves her, while his ex-wife is waiting his baby. Joey is presented as an actor fighting for his space, whereas Phoebe works as a masseuse. Chandler brokes up with his girlfriend Janice. At last, Chandler accidentally reveals that Ross loves Rachel, that realizes she feels in the same way about him.

Second season

In first place, Rachel discovers that Ross is dating Julie, but after, Rachel and Ross get together. Joey gets a role in a soap opera, nevertheless, his character is killed after he claims that he writes many of his own speeches. Monica starts dating Richard, her father’s friend, however, as time goes by, they realize they do not have the same decisions and they break up.

Third season

To start with, Rachel stars to work in a luxury department. Rachel and Ross take a break in their relationship after a fight. After believing of having no family, except her twin sister Ursula, Phoebe knows her half-brother and his birth mother. While Joey develops a relationship with his partner scene called Kate, Monica begins a relationship with the millionaire Pete-Becker.

Fourth season

Initially, Ross and Rachel briefly get back together. Phoebe becomes a surrogate mother for her half-brother and his wife Alice. Monica and Rachel are forced to change of apartments with Joey and Chandler, after losing a bet. Ross starts dating a British woman called Emily and at the end of the season, he organizes his wedding in London. Monica and Chandler sleep together. At last, Ross errs the name of his bride at the moment of the vows.

Fifth season

At first, Monica and Chandler try to keep hidden their new relationship from their friends. Phoebe gives birth to triplets. Ross gets divorced by the second time. Phoebe starts a relationship with a police officer called Gary. Monica and Chandler make their relationship public, and their friends get surprised but happy with the novelty. At last, Ross and Rachel drunk get married in Las Vegas.

Sixth season

First of all, Ross gets divorced by the third time. In reason of Monica and Chandler begins to live together, Rachel goes to live with Phoebe. Janine moves to Joey’s apartment and after, they start to date. Phoebe’s apartment catches fire and she and Rachel are obligated to move temporarily. At last, Chandler plans to ask Monica in marriage.

Seventh season

To start with, Joey returns to act in the soap opera. On the wedding eve of Monica and Chandler, her fiancé disappears and Phoebe finds a positive pregnancy test in Monica’s bathroom, for this reason she thinks her friend is waiting a baby. At the end, Monica and Chandler get married.

Eighth season

First of all, it is confirmed that in the truth is Rachel who is pregnant and Ross is the father. Joey falls in love with Rachel and decides to tell Ross, who gets shocked to know it. Surprisingly, Ross advises Joey to tell Rachel about his feelings. At last, Rachel gives birth to a little girl.

Ninth season

In first place, Ross and Rachel decide to live together with their daughter, however, she decides to return to live with Joey and takes Emma (her daughter) with her. Chandler works most of the week in Tulsa, Oklahoma, nevertheless, he decides to fire himself. Chandler and Monica try to become pregnant, but they can not because both are sterile. In the midst of this problem, they decide to adopt a child. Phoebe begins to date a man called Mike Hannigan. At the end, Rachel starts to fall in love for Joey.

Tenth season

Initially, Rachel and Joey have a relationship that lasts only three episodes. Phoebe and Mike get married. Chandler and Monica try to adopt a baby, as time goes by they get and the baby’s mother calls Erica. Rachel is fired and gets a new job in Paris, but, Ross does not want that she goes away, because he loves her. Erica gives birth to a boy, however, soon later, to the surprise of all, borns a girl too. Phoebe helps Ross to impede Rachel of going to Paris. Rachel embarks, in spite of Ross to say he loves her. Ross gets razed with the departure of Rachel, but she gets off of the plane and they kiss in Ross’ apartment. At last, Chandler and Monica take the babies and the four friends to a last coffee at the Central Perk. The last scene is a quickly tour by the empty apartment, six keys in the apartment, one of each character and a close in the frame which involves the door’s magic eye, the most emblematic symbol of the series.
