THE PROFILE OF THE CHARACTERS

Rachel Green

Rachel was a rich girl who after leaving her fiancé at the church, goes to live with her friend Monica in New York. She worked as waitress at the Cafe Central Perk, as Fashion Consultant at Bloomingdale's and at Ralph Lauren. She dated many times, including Paolo, an Italian man. Nonetheless, she was in love with Ross and she  had a complicated  relationship with him. At the season 5 they married in Las Vegas, but, they got divorced some time after the marriage. Later she had a daughter with him, Emma. In the final episode, Rachel gives up a job in Paris and she and Ross get back together. 

Phoebe Buffay 
Phoebe lived in New York streets. After living with Monica, she lived with her grandmother. Her father abandoned her family and her mother commited suicide. She has a twin sister named Ursula. She was an eccentric vegetarian person. She worked as a masseuse and a musician, sings at Central Perk, creating songs like ‘’Smelly Cat’’. She meets her brother Frank and accepted to be a surrogate mother. Thus, she gave birth triplets named Frank Jr. Jr., Lesley and Chandler. She loves the name Regina Phalange and uses as her pseudonym. At the end of the season, Phoebe gets married of Mike Hanningan.

Monica Geller

Monica is Ross’s younger sister. In her childhood, Monica was overweight and she decided to lose weight, after Chandler called her fat. She was a perfectionist, competitive and obsessive-compulsive person. She worked as a cook. She lived in an apartment where many episodes take place. She dated her father’s friend Richard who was twenty-one years older than her. They broke up when Richard said to her that he did not wish to have more children. In Ross’s wedding with Emily, Monica and Chandler sleep together. Thereafter, they fell in love and decided to keep a secret relationship. Nonetheless, their friends found out. Monica and Chandler get married. After trying many times, they discovered that probably they would never have children. Consequently, they decided to adopt the baby of a girl named Erica. Erica gave birth to twins, named Erica and Jack. In the last episode they and their babies moved out of their apartment.

 

Ross Geller

Ross is Monica's brother. He has a PhD in paleontology. He worked in a museum and later he became a professor of paleontology at New York University. He had a pet monkey named Marcel which had to be sent to zoo when it hit puberty. He was married to Carol, before she decided that she was lesbian, Carol gave him a son called Ben. He was also married to Emily. However, Ross has been totally in love with Rachel. Ross and Rachel married in Las Vegas when they were drunk. Nevertheless , they got a divorce and later had a daughter, Emma. They get together at the end of the series.

 

Joey Tribbiani
Joey was an Italian- American addicted to eating. He was an aspiring actor who just portrayed pathetic roles. However, he becomes famous for his role as Dr. Drake Ramoray on soap opera ‘’Days of ours lives’’. He was womanizer and he used to say the catchphrase ‘’How you doin?’’ to win over women. Joey lived with Chandler for years, and also lived with Rachel for a short time when he developed a feeling for her. But, it did not last a long time. He is the one who in the last episode is still single.

Chandler Bing
Chandler was a very outgoing and sarcastic person. He worked as a Data Processor; but, he hated his job, and none of his friends knew it. Finally, at the season 9 he gives up his job and gets a new job at an advertising firm. He had a relationship with Janice who had an irritating voice. However, Chandler married to Monica. When they discovered that they would never have children, they adopt twin babies named Erica and Jack.
